Esther Louise Everett Marshall

Marshall, Esther Louise, age 90, of Digby passed away May 15, 2016 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Digby, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Violet (Urqhart) Everett. In her early years, she was employed as a secretary at Connor Brother’s in Grand Manan NB; Digby General Hospital as a receptionist as well as secretary assistant to Dr. Perley Outhouse. When Esther was younger, she enjoyed singing and playing the piano. She loved gardening, knitting, bird watching and feeding her feathered friends. Her love of Grand Manan was second to none. A friend to everyone, her door was always open but her family was her life, she felt their every joy and every sadness and she was always ready to pick you up when you were feeling down. A lady with a beautiful smile was affectionately known by her family as Nannie Marshall. Surviving are her sons, Lawrence (Carolyn), Sussex, NB ; Roger (Sharon), Hillgrove, Digby Co; Bruce, Bedford; grandchildren, Carol Ann, Derek, Rodney, Julie, Kevin, Kelly; great grandchildren, Isaac, Hannah, Reuben, Ethan, Jack, Greyson, Declan; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Hubert Roy (1965), daughter, Linda Lorraine Sabine (2012). Funeral service will be 1 pm Saturday, May 21, 2016 from Jayne’s Funeral Home, 7 Birch St. Digby (902-245-2525). Rev. Donald Robertson will officiate with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Digby. In Lieu of flowers, donations in memory can be made to Digby General Hospital or charity of your choice.
