Eugene John Melanson

MELANSON, Eugene John, age 83, of Plympton Station, passed away peacefully in Digby General Hospital on March 2, 2022 surrounded by his family. He was a son of the late Eben and Rita (Amero) Melanson.

Eugene worked hard during his lifetime, but was able to enjoy some time farming, gardening and working in the woods. He enjoyed socializing and having a good time. He was known by many and left in impression most won’t forget. He was full of stories!

He survived by his wife, Phyllis Melanson; sons, Paul (Rose) and James (Connie) Melanson; daughters, Louise (Claude) Stanton and Heather (Cody) Banks as well as grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brother, Harley Melanson and grandson Jarrett Melanson.

Visitation will be held at Jayne’s Funeral Home, Digby on March 5, 2022 from 3-5pm. Cremation will take place under the care of Jayne’s Funeral Home, Digby. A family service will be held at a later date.

Donations in Eugene‘s memory may be made to the SPCA. The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors in both Digby and Yarmouth hospitals.
