

Budd, Harry Roberts – With heavy hearts the family announces the unexpected passing of Harry Roberts Budd on March 31st, 2013 in Digby General Hospital at the age of 85. Born in Digby, he was a son of the late Elisha and Nellie (Hutchinson) Budd. Harry moved away at a young age to pursue a career as a heavy equipment operator, moving back to the homestead in Seabrook with his wife and family in 1974. He drove a taxi until his retirement and enjoyed gardening, music, his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Harry is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joyce, daughters, Gail LaPointe, Truro; Debbie (Bruce) Hawtin, Oakville, Ontario; Jackie (Paul) Stanton-Kenrick, Digby; Bev (Sam) Lewis, Rossway; son, Robert (Shelly) Budd, Middle Sackville; grandchildren, Robert Stanton, Eric Hawtin, Nancy Stanton, Bethany Lewis-Orde, Ashley Budd, Sammy-Jo Lewis, Leah Hawtin, Jared Budd, Burton Lewis, Clayton Lewis, Hunter Budd, great-grandchildren, Jackson Stanton, Charlee Orde, Liam Stanton, Owen Frost-Stanton, Benjamin Welch, Brock Orde and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Harry was predeceased by sisters, Nina, Bertha, Esther, Elizabeth, brothers, James, Garnet, Gerald, Arthur and Robert. Visitation will be 7-9pm, today from Jayne’s Funeral Home, 7 Birch Street, Digby (245-2525) also where the Funeral Service will be at 2pm, Wednesday April 3rd. Harry’s niece, Rev. Sharon Budd will preside with interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Digby. Donations in memory of Harry may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation or Salvation Army.
