

Frost, Hoyt Cheney – 98, born in Little River, Digby Co., NS August 27th, 1912; eighth child of the late Mendel & June Weyburn (Tibert) Frost has gone to be with his Lord, Thursday January 6th from the Annapolis Health Clinic, Annapolis Royal. As a young man, Hoyt was baptized in January, in St. Mary’s Bay becoming a member of the Little River Baptist Church. He married Mary Louise (Dukeshire) on August 29th, 1936, in Bear River East, and has lived in the area ever since. He was a trucker for Walter Chute, Tupper Warren & Napthal Lumber Mill; then, after acquiring his own truck, supplying weir poles to the fishermen of Sandy Cove and Little River as well as hauling wood and cattle for the local men. Besides his wife of 74 years, he is survived by his sons; James (Laura), Digby; Barry, Bear River East; son-in-law, George Nuell, Dundas, Ontario; his daughters Vivian Munro(Welsford), Meisners Section; Marjorie Munro, Coldbrook; Evelyn Hayden (Donald), Rossway; Ethel Green (Robert), Clarence and Janice Dondale (George), Lequille. 17 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren; his sister, Margaret Dakin, Halifax; many nephews and nieces. Predeceased by daughter Sylvia Nuell, great-granddaughter Emily Nuell, son-in-law, Lawrence Munro, daughter-in-law, Joanne (Frost) Thompson, brothers Carl, Earl, Emdon, Gerald and sisters, Ethel, Utah, Audrey. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Jayne’s Funeral Home, Digby, where the family only will gather on Monday January 10th 7-9pm, and from where the funeral service will be held at 10 am on Tuesday January 11th. Rev. Robert Reid officiating. The family will lay the body to rest in Clementsvale Cemetery following the service; and then, will receive visitation at the family home. All are welcome. No flowers by request. Donations in memory, if desired, may be made to the Annapolis Health Clinic, or the Little River Baptist Church.
