Ivan Gerald Moore

Moore, Ivan Gerald, 83 of Freeport, Digby Co. passed away April 2, 2015 in The Digby General Hospital. Born in Freeport , he was a son of the late Edwin and Hattie (Langthorne) Moore. Ivan was employed as a foreman for 30 years with Connor Brothers fishplant, Freeport and later as foreman for 17 years with D.B. Kenney Fisheries, Westport. He was a member of the Freeport Baptist Church, Past Grand Master and member for 49 years of Masonic Lodge # 65, Freeport; 56 year member of the Freeport Fire Dept; member of the IOOF Oddfellows, Freeport; 21 year member of Fundy Search and Rescue. He was also a member of the Freeport Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing pool and Bingo. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving are his wife, Janet; sons, Gerald (Mary) Moore, Freeport; Clifton (Linda) Moore, Westport; Glendon (Heather) Moore; Alan (Joyce) Moore both of Freeport; 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by sister, Nellie Titus and brothers Irvan, Arthur and Robert. No visitation by request. A memorial graveside service will be held at a later date in Brookside Cemetery, Freeport. Donations in memory can be made to the Freeport Baptist Church or to the charity of your choice.
