In his younger years, Jim moved to Ontario where he met his wife Ruth and together, they started their family. After their first two sons were born, they relocated home to Nova Scotia where they created a beautiful life. Jim was the owner of T&C motors in Marshalltown where he proudly serviced the community for over 50 years operating an ESSO station, auto repair and towing. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, such as deer hunting on his family land in Hassett, fishing and gardening. He looked forward to a trip to Cape Breton to moose hunt with some of his brothers and closest friends each year. His favourite place on earth was in Hilltown, where his father originally had a camp. The best memories are from spending time over the years at “the camp” with his family and friends. In his later years, Jim enjoyed feeding the deer on the hill and the birds out his front window.
Jim’s love for his family was unwavering; he was the strong, silent type but without a word you always knew you were welcome at his table for a warm meal or a good game of crib. He especially lit up when the younger generations came by for a visit to “grammy and grampys”. Jim was the root of his family and will be missed beyond measure by all those who knew and loved him.
