Joyce Budd

Joyce Budd age 88 of Digby passed away peacefully at her daughter Jackie’s home on October 25, 2025. Born in Yarmouth she was the daughter of the late Mamie (Clements) and John Ashford and wife of the late Harry Budd.

Joyce was very innovative and quick witted, she enjoyed sewing and quilting and being outdoors. The love she had for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was quite evident.

She is survived by her five children, Debbie (Bruce) Hawtin Bracebridge,ON, Jackie (Paul) Stanton Kernick, Digby, Robert (Shelly) Budd, Middle Sackville and Bev Lewis, Digby; step-daughter, Gail LaPointe, Truro; grandchildren, Robert (Angie) Stanton, Eric (Andrea) Hawtin, Nancy (Carson) Stanton, Bethany (Jason) Lewis-Orde, Ashley (Matt) Suter, Sammy Jo Lewis, Leah (Shane) Labelle, Jared Budd, Burton (Katerine) Lewis, Clayton (Amanda) Lewis and Hunter Budd; great-grandchildren, Jackson Stanton, Charlee Orde, Liam Stanton, Owen Frost Stanton, Benjamin Welch, Brock Orde, Bryson LaBelle, Piper Stanton, Everly Lewis, Miles Hawtin, Belle Lewis, Tinsley Lewis, Tommy Lewis, Charlotte Suter, Hudson Suter, Emmett Lewis and Wesley Lewis; brothers, the late Jack Ashford, Russell Ashford, Malcolm Ashford and Churchill Ashford and sister, Sally Kelly as well as several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Jayne’s Funeral Home, 7 Birch Street, Digby on Monday, November 3, 2025 at 930am followed by refreshments at 10 am and service at 11am with Rev. Sharon Budd officiating. Burial will follow the service at Woodlawn Cemetery for those who wish to attend. Memorial donation may be made to the Canadian Red Cross.
