Julia Elizabeth McNeary Bondy

Bondy (McNeary), Julia Elizabeth – 80, Digby. It is with sadness we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother, Julia. She was the daughter of the late William and Annie (O’Brian) McNeary. Julia was born and grew up in Canso. She moved with her family to Dartmouth in 1949. After high school, Julia took her first job at the Moir’s chocolate factory. In 1968 Julia settled in Digby, where she raised her two children. She worked at the children’s home in Digby for a number of years. Julia’s passion was the piano, she had a wonderful ear for music, She would hear a new song on the radio, sit at the piano and play it. She loved playing for seniors and would frequent nursing homes to play for the residents. Julia is survived by son, Donald (Debbie) Bondy, Digby; daughter, Donna White, Digby; grandson, Colin Bondy, Digby; granddaughters, Nicole Bondy, Halifax; Kathy (Chris) Harlow-White, Bear River; Adrienne White, Bear River; Sarah White, Calgary; Emily White, Calgary; Jonnie White, Digby; two great-grandchildren, Oakley and Omri Harlow White, Bear River; sister, Martha (Kerry) Briard, Ottawa; nieces, Cheryl, Ottawa; Lynda, New York; nephews, Wayne, David, Michael, all of Ottawa; eight great nieces and nephews. No Visitation by request. Funeral Service will be 1pm, Saturday April 28 at Jayne’s Funeral Home, (245-2525) 7 Birch St. Digby, Interment will take place at a later date.
