Leitha Margaret White Glavin

Glavin , Leitha Margaret, age 75, , Westport, Digby Co. passed away November 24, 2011 at home. Born in Fort Fairfeild, Maine, she was a daughter of the late Leigh and Gwendolyn (Fields) White. Leitha was a member of the Westport Firehall Auxillary , active member of the Westport Baptist Church, Past member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 92 Freeport. She started the first support group for the Alzheimer Society in Digby Co. Surviving are her husband Robert; daughters Vicki (Floyd) Graham, Westport; Carol (Ron Clark) Glavin, Dartmouth; sons Brian (Deborah) Glavin, Coldbrook; Anthony (Amber) Glavin, Elmsdale, Halifax Co. brothers Stephen Maxwell (Shirley) White, Lincoln, NB; John Leigh (Elizabeth “ Betty” ) White, London, Ont.; Charles “Chuck” ( Helen) White, Kingston, Ont.; 8 grandchildren , 1 great-grandson, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters Joyce and Marion and a brother LeRoy “Sonny”. No visitation by request. Funeral service will be held 3:00 pm Monday from the Westport Baptist Church Vestry. Rev. David Ingersoll will officiate with burial in Hilltop Cemetery, Westport. Family flowers only. Donations in memory can be made to the Christmas Daddies or to the Alzheimer Society. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Jayne’s Funeral Home, 7 Birch St. Digby.
