Leslie Ray Frost

Born and raised in the village of Bear River, Nova Scotia, Les grew up as the youngest of 5 children with simple family values. After attending Oakdene and Digby Regional school, Les tried his hand at various jobs before he found his first calling, Heavy Equipment Operation. As a heavy equipment operator he worked on many projects in and around Digby and Annapolis County. After multiple years in heavy equipment, Les decided to change careers to automobile mechanics. After first running the Bear River and Digby Irvings, as well as a shop of his own, he then went on to work for multiple automotive shops in Digby, usually sought out due to his knowledge and years of experience.

In his later life, Les got the most enjoyment out of spending time with his children as well as his little buddy Caleb, his cat. This included facetime calls, exchanging dad jokes and listening to classic country music with his daughter Denise, and Sunday Formula 1 races & house renovations with his son Christopher. He also enjoyed daily drives around town, weekly chats with his sister Ann, and coffee with his best friend Wayne.

Although never a grandfather, he was a proud fur grandfather to multiple cats and dogs including Imola, Zen, Finn, Mui’n, and Dino.

Always well respected, Les will be remembered for his friendly smile, his pleasant personality, his quick wit, and his willingness to lend a hand.

Les is survived by his daughter Denise Frost (Sarah Jayne Doiron), son Christopher Frost (Jessica Robicheau), and sisters Nancy Shipley & Ann Brown. Les was predeceased by parents Emdon and Louise (Dolly) Frost, as well as sister Barbara Ruggles and brother David (Pab)Frost.

A huge thank you to the staff at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital for the amazing care that Les received while in his final month. A special thank you to LPN Courtney and CCA Odette for going above & beyond for Les and his children.
