

It is with great sadness we announce the passing at home of Luke Dugas, 86, of Smith’s Cove, Digby Co. Luke was born in Mount Pleasant, Digby Co. He was the son of the late Clarence and Grace (Handspiker) Dugas.
Luke loved spending time with friends, especially over a good game of cards or a round of golf. He played cards every week at Cornwallis and Digby Curling Club and always looked forward to a game of crib at Tim Horton’s. Some of his best times were spent playing bridge and sharing laughs with his friends Stan, Ron, and Phil.
He is survived by his wife Liz Durling; sister Eileen and brother Carl; children Robert (Pam), Brenda (Mark), Richard (Amy); stepchildren: Tracey (Dave), Tammy (John), Darren (Tina); grandchildren: Ian (Jenna), Katherine (Andrew), Jennifer (Sandy), Connor (Mhairi), Kieran (Susy), Melanie (Landon), Emily, Mason. He is survived by many great-grandchildren.
Luke was predeceased by his son Brian; brothers Archie, Jackie; and sister Joyce.
Special thanks to his best friend Stan Locke. Special thanks to VON & Digby/Clare home support workers for being so kind and caring to Luke & myself. In keeping with Luke’s wishes, cremation has taken place under the care of Jayne’s Funeral Home, Digby.
A visitation will take place on Friday, July 11, 2025, from 1-2pm immediately followed by a celebration of Luke's life starting at 2pm, with Pastor Mark Cress officiating, with a reception to follow, all from Jayne’s Funeral Home, Digby. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, or charity of your choice. Online condolences may be made.
