Born in Yarmouth, he was the son of the late Donald and Mary (White) Amirault. After a 20 year career with the Royal Canadian Air Force, Mark returned to Digby and opened Amirault Photography with his wife Judy. Throughout his life, Mark was an avid sportsman - enjoying scuba diving and hockey, both as a player and a coach. Mark fulfilled a lifelong dream when he became a light aircraft pilot. Mark and Judy were fortunate to share their mutual love of nature and photography while exploring Cedar Keys in Florida and rock hounding throughout Nova Scotia. Mark died after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's - while it changed Mark's memory we were lucky that it did not change his kind and gentle nature. He is survived by his wife of 50 years - Judy Gail (Budd) Amirault; his son Mark William (Digby) and daughter Angela Catherine Amirault, Edmonton, and Mark and Judy's goddaughter, Sarah Amirault (Digby); sister, Mary Jane Amirault, Kentville; three brothers, Donald (Jorunn), Greenwood, Tom (Jean), Digby, Peter (Mary), Yarmouth. He was predeceased by brother, Joseph. Celebration of Life will be held at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Digby on Tuesday, February 3rd at 11:00 am, Rev. Henry Smolenaars officiating. Reception to follow at the church hall. Donations in memory may be made to the Annapolis Royal Nursing Home, or the Canadian Red Cross - which provided equipment support throughout Mark's illness.
