Michelle Lynn Gaffer

4 mayo , 195016 octubre , 2020

Michelle Lynn Gaffer- Age 70 of Digby, NS passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on Oct 16, 2020. She was a daughter of the late Garfield L. and Judy (Gidney) Trask.

After graduating high school, Lynn moved to Toronto where she worked for 10 years before moving to Saudi Arabia to begin her career in the medical field. While there, she met her husband Khalad and eventually moved to Egypt to continue their careers, where Lynn found her second passion teaching English. With the passing of her husband, Lynn decided it was time to return home to her family in Digby, NS where she finished her career as a Residential Instructor with the Conway Workshop Association. She enjoyed history, travelling, family, music, singing, fishing, kayaking and the beach. She will be remembered for her ability to light up a room with her smile, quick wit and laughter.

Lynn is survived by sister, Judy Lynn (Trask) Pleasant; Aunt Janet and Uncle Ozzie; nieces and nephews Adam, Abigail, Kristie, Shannon and several cousins. Besides Lynn’s parents she was predeceased by husband, Khalad Gaffer and brother, Garfield Eugene Trask.

Donations in memory can be made to Canadian Cancer Society, Nova Scotia Division, 5826 South St. Halifax, Nova Scotia B3H 9Z9. The family would like to thank the Oncology department at Yarmouth Regional Hospital, nurses and staff at Digby General Hospital and many friends and family for their compassion and care.

Cremation has taken place under the care of Jayne’s Funeral Home, Digby. A graveside service will be held at a later date. Share a memory or leave a condolence at www.jaynesfuneralhome.com

My heart is broken and my tears are flowing
Lynn, an angel, your time on this earth was too short.
I have always and will always treasure the wonderful memories of our time together ... and we did have some wonderful times.
Our frequent trips to the Red Sea, snorkeling, swimming, laughing
... drinking wine, you taught to me to add pepper to the wine and it did improve the taste :).
I remember visiting your apartment in Cairo and you asking me if I wanted apple pie with my coffee; when I said yes you went into the kitchen and made one ... super quick and absolutely delicious.
Intelligence and kindness oozed from you, you really did make this world a better place.
I am blessed to have had you as a friend ... no more ... a soul sister.
Watch over me from your heavenly place ... one day we will be reunited.

My heart hurts that you are gone but am so glad your pain is over. We thank the Lord for you every day. We met in Taif, Saudi Arabia. You insisted I go to a particular party with you. Once there you introduced Mark and I. Because of you we have been happily married for 28 years and have a wonderful and beautiful daughter. Thank you again and I miss you. Much love and God bless.

Lynn (also known as the dancing queen) was one of a kind, she was a dear friend, great neighbor and co-worker. We had many laughs and adventures kayaking. She loved to joke around about cloning my husband Darren, I had to keep a close eye on her when he was in the yard lol Lynn had a great sense of humor. She will be forever missed.

I remember my last conversation with Lynn while I was working away at Wal Mart. We laughed so hard as we always did when we were able to speak during these difficult times. I will remember Lynn as a brave funny and real down to earth loving Lady.
My condolences to the Family and Friends of Lynn. We will miss Lynn as our neighbour, as well.
