Muriel Mildred Vantassell

Larrimore Vantassell, Muriel Mildred age 99 of Mount Pleasant, Digby Co., passed away February 20, 2025 in the Digby General Hospital. Born in Mount Pleasant, Digby Co., she was a daughter of the late Valentine and Mildred (Trimper) Pulley. She loved her family, friends and faith and enjoyed telling stories, baking pies, playing board games and cards. Muriel was employed at CFB Cornwallis for over 20 years, she also worked at the Digby Pines, Carleton St. Bowling Alley, Muriel's Taxi Service and shucking scallops.

Muriel is survived by her husband Ronald VanTassell; daughter Lola Marjorie (Avard Thibault) Smith; daughter in law, Frances Larrimore; niece Isabel (Alan) Marshall; 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 2 great- great- grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband Stewart Larrimore; son Daniel; sister Marjorie; brothers Frederic and Wallace; granddaughter Nancy Lee; and nephew Stevie.

A funeral service will take place on Saturday, March 1st at 1 p.m. from Jaynes Funeral Home, 15 Birch St. Digby, with Pastor Steve Matthews officiating. Donations in memory of Muriel can be made to the Plympton Baptist Church.
