

Parker, Obed Emden, age 94 of Digby, passed away December 2, 2022 at home. Born in South Farmington, he was a son of the late Charles Sr. and Mae (Sabean) Parker. In his earlier years, he was employed with Continental CanCo in Ontario, Michelin Tire, Tenton, before moving to Digby to be the caretaker for the DEFAGA Lodge for several years. He then retired and moved to Bear River and then to Digby. Obed and his wife Shirley enjoyed square dancing, playing cards with family and friends, which included a good game of poker, cribbage, 31 and nickels. Then he got hooked on Bingo! He was Past President and a lifetime member of the DEFAGA Lodge He was also involved with Ducks Unlimited. A veteran of the Second World War and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion , Bear River. He was a devoted husband and great father who was liked by many. Surviving are his daughter Elizabeth (Gary) May Robicheau, grandchildren Cathy Terpsis, Tommy Melegos, Barbara Melegou, nine great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Shirley, daughter Muriel Melegos, sisters Irene, Eileen, Edith , Ruth, Joyce, brothers Max , Jessie, Charles, Roy, and Bennie.
