Mr. Robert Darren Ring

Darren Ring was known as many things to many people. He was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew him best, Darren will be remembered fondly as someone who was happy, laughed a lot and loved to joke and tease.

      Darren was born on September 18, 1966 at Digby General Hospital in Digby, NS. He was the son of Robert and Marjorie Ring. Darren grew up in Marshalltown, NS.

      Darren was raised with six siblings. He had three brothers, Ronnie, Kenny and Michael and three sisters, Elaine, Wanda and Jeanette.

      In high school, Darren enjoyed some classes more than others, having favorite subjects and teachers. His favorite class in high school was Seamanship. The teacher he enjoyed learning from the most was Mr. Richard Ross.

      On July 20, 1991 Darren exchanged wedding vows with Jennifer Eva Harris at the Advent Christian Church of Bear River, NS. Darren was committed to making his new family happy, safe and provided for. Darren and Jennifer bought their first home in Marshalltown, NS and lived there for three years. Then they moved to Bear River, NS where they lived together and raised their children for the next 23 years.

      Darren worked hard to be a good father to his daughters, Jessica and Nicole. He did his best to provide for them and was very proud of them. They were his heart.

      Darren enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Darren worked diligently and did his best to succeed in providing for his family. Darren spent 15 years on the water as a scallop fisherman and 18 years working in the woods and selling firewood.

      Darren's favorite activities were camping, attending dances and being with friends. He was an active member of the Digby East Fish and Game.

      Darren passed away on October 4, 2017 at Annapolis Community Health Center in Annapolis Royal, NS. He is survived by wife, Jennifer; daughters, Jessica and Nicole; brothers, Ronnie, Kenny, Michael and sisters, Elaine, Wanda and Jeanette. Darren was laid to rest in Mount Hope Cemetery in Bear River, NS.

Sadly we inform you that Robert “Darren” Ring passed away on October 4th, 2017 in Annapolis Royal Health Centre at the age of 51. Born in Digby, He was a son of the late Robert and Marjorie (Abbott) Ring. Darren enjoyed camping and going to dances at Digby East Fish and Game. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Darren is survived his wife, Jennifer (Harris) Ring; daughters, Jessica (Tyler) Pulley, Nicole Ring; sisters, Jeanette, Wanda (Billy); Elaine (Wallace) Ronald (Amy); Kenneth and Michael (Barb). Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be 7-9, Friday, October 6th, 2017 at Jayne’s Funeral Home, 7 Birch Street, Digby. Burial will take place at a later date in Mount Hope Cemetery.
