Ronald Joseph Amero, 83, passed away at home on May 31st, 2025, surrounded by family. He was born in Doucetteville, NS and was the son of the late Gifford and Marjorie Amero.
Ronald was a very hardworking man. He left school in grade 10 to work at the power dam to help pay the bills, that was just one of the many jobs he had in his life; He worked in housing for 10 years; construction in Toronto for a while, drove truck for Bobby Bell, worked in the fish, and his favorite job of all was working in the woods, which he did in multiple places.
Ronald always said that " he was the jack of all trades, and master of none" because he truly has done it all. Two days before he passed he even got to add barber to his list, he told us he knew he could do a lot of things but never imagined he could be a barber too.
He loved fishing and hunting, talking on the CB, as he was a long-time member of the Tower CB Club and was known as the " Jacker". He enjoyed making wooden ornaments with his wife Sheila back in the day, and most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. His great grandkids were the light of his life. Ronald loved telling stories, and his daily chats with his best friend/neighbor Roger. He always had a story to tell, we just never knew what kind of stories we were going to hear. He loved his birds, and squirrels and fed them better than he fed himself.
He was the most truthful, strong, hardworking, reliable, funny person, and would do anything for anyone, and had a smile that could light up anyone's day. He will be missed more than words, but he always said "mise well laugh as cry... And it could be worse but could be better."
Ronald is survived by his daughters; Karen (Paul) Sullivan, of Plympton; Peggy (John) Witt of Alberta; Claudette Burns (Rick Lupton) of Deep Brook; sons; Danny (Heather) Amero, of B.C.; Ronnie Amero Jr, of Gilberts Cove; son-in-law Wayne Burns, of Barton.

Special thanks to the nurses at DGH especially Chi and Marteen, and the VON's that come to the house, especially the palliative care team, Amanda and Danielle who really did everything they could to help us make dad/Grampy’s last wish of spending his final days at home happen. Another special thank you to our cousin Frances for being there to sit with Ronald so the family could get some rest, as well as a family friend Nicole, and of course our family. His best friend and neighbor, Roger for coming daily and really brightening his day and spending many hours by his side. To each and every person that helped our dad/Grampy in any way, we could never express enough how you've touched our hearts forever. Thank you all, so much!
