Ronald Fredrick Van Tassell

Ronald Frederick VanTassell went to be with the Lord on March 05, 2026, at the age of 99 years. Ron was born on January 01, 1927, to Orbin and Mabel (Tucker) VanTassell in Digby, Nova Scotia. Ron will be remembered for his beautiful faith in God. He was a witness to everyone who knew him. He devoted his life to serving the Lord within the church in any capacity needed. Ron loved his family, a great day on the golf course followed by games and cards at night as well as wood working in his little shop out back. Ron worked as an Insurance Agent throughout his entire career.

Ron was a loving son, brother, husband, father, stepfather and grandfather. He is survived by his two daughters, Linda VanTassell Marek (Ken) and Debra Jespersen; his grandchildren Nathan Jespersen (Sarah), Shannon Marek (Andrew), Jared Jespersen and Jonathan Marek; great-grandchildren, Preston and Harrison and Wyatt. Ron was stepfather to Lola Smith (Avard Thibault), Danny Larrimore (Francis), step-grandfather to Jennifer Harnish (Kevin), Susan Smith, Shirley (Randy Stark), Donna Larrimore (Gillan) and Brenda Larrimore Melanson (Joey); step-great grandfather to Trinity Robinson (Jesse) and Jayden McDonald (Leo), Cora, Chelsey, Chad and Trevor.

Ron was predeceased by his first wife Dorothy McGowan in 1998 and his second wife Muriel Larrimore in 2025, Muriel’s son Danny Larrimore in 2022; his brothers, Ken, Russell, Dennis, Guy, Richard, and sisters Jean, Audrey and June as well as son in law, Kim Jespersen.

Private Interment for family will be held on March 26, 2026 at 2:30pm at Fairview Cemetery. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
