Sadly, Sarah lost her 21 month battle with lung cancer on Monday, December 15, 2025 at Yarmouth Regional Hospital. She fought a brave fight - seldom complaining in spite of all she went through. She was a daughter of the late Kenneth (2019) and Freda (Naugler) Hartling (1999), and wife of the late Brian Webber (1997) of Liscomb.
Sarah is survived by her sisters, Nancy Manzer (Owen) and Kate Hartling of Ashmore; brothers, Todd Hartling (Susan) of Middle Musquodoboit, Gavin Hartling (Beverly) of Sheet Harbour and Dickie Hartling (Darcelle) of Comox, BC; nieces, Jillian (Joey), Natalie (Colton), Katrina and Vanessa; nephews, Wilson, James and Ryan; great-nephew, Noah as well as many friends.
Sarah enjoyed many jobs over her life time. She worked for fisheries in Liscomb for a season then went onto personal care work at Shearbrook Nursing Home which led to the position of Recreation Co-ordinator. Then Sarah worked as an EMT for the Ambulance service operated by David Veno. She attended Bible College for 2 years in Kingston, NS.
In 2004 Sarah decided to venture outside her home province of Nova Scotia. She always wanted to drive across Canada, so she packed her car and headed west with her cousin Karen Boder. When Sarah arrived in Calgary, AB she sent out 18 resumes to apply for a position in security. With 18 applications the interviewer thought she was very interested. She secured a position with Bental Kennedy and worked her way up to Security Supervisor, following her passion for safety and care for the companies she worked for. Sarah was headhunted for her final work position with Oxford Properties who will also be opening a library in Sarah's memory in the future.
Sarah wanted to return to Nova Scotia to spend the remainder of her time. With the help of so very many wonderful people who supported her throughout this journey. She received tremendous support through the Go Fund Me page.
Sarah will rest in Riverside Baptist Cemetery where Nacy and Owen will also rest. Her graveside service will take place on Thursday, December 18 at 1pm at Riverside Cemetery, Weymouth.
The family wishes to thank all the wonderful doctors and nurses throughout this journey, the team in Calgary, the Palliative Care Unit and the Yarmouth ICU staff here in Nova Scotia.
