It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Susan, 62, of Plympton. She passed away on August 20, 2020 at home surrounded by her family. Susan was the daughter of the late Bernice and Basil Amero.
Susan was born in Toronto, Ontario but spent many summer vacations as a child visiting her grandparents in Plympton before her family made the move to Plympton when she was 12. She Graduated from Digby Regional High School with Honours in Secretarial before starting her first job at The Pines Resort as a Secretary. After raising her children past the elementary years she spent several years working as a cashier.
Susan was a loving wife and mother who loved her family more than anything. She enjoyed playing cards, Yahtzee and family gatherings. She was an avid animal lover. Susan spent several years as a member of the Holy Cross Parish Choir where she especially loved the Christmas celebrations. Susan was very creative and loved making special occasion cakes for members of the family.
Susan is survived by her Husband Paul of 43 years; Daughter Leahanne (Marc), Halifax; Son Christopher (Amanda), Marshalltown; Sister Patricia, Plympton; Brothers Michael (Wendy), Gilbert’s Cove; Tom (Paula), Halifax; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to send Special Thanks to Dr. Gillis and The Digby Palliative Care Team; The VON, Dr. LaPierre, and Dr. Shivakumar. Donations in Susan’s name can be made to Digby Palliative Care, Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation, or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
