

Alton was a diehard Green bay Packers fan as everyone knows. He was a Veteran of the US Army and a long time Musician starting at age 11. Playing in his dad's band the "Magic City Four" in Minot. North Dakota. He was the band manager of the Red River Dutchman. He also played with the AUSA sounds of Freedom Band. Charlie & Friends Band and at Holy Family Catholic Church in Kingsburg and in several other bands throughout the US. Alton worked all his life in Construction and was a retired member of Carpenters Union Local 1109.
Alton was a member of the Musicians Union for over 50 years and a past grand president of the Brotherhood of St. Anthony’s. He spent most of his time serving in various leadership positions and was a very active. Alton was a member of the Dinuba Lions Club and the Knights of Columbus Holy Family Council #9213, and a member of Cabrillo Civic Club of Tulare County #12.
Alton was a good guy who could also find work playing his music which he loved to do his whole life. It seemed that music always was his number one priority.
Alton was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Mary Ann Schlag and Sister Beverly Schlag. He is survived by his wife Linda Drake Schlag, Sister Rose Marie Carini, Brother Darvin, Jerry and Dale. His Daughter Sandra Brandvold, Son Anthony Schlag, Daughter Stacy Engstrom plus their spouses and three grandchildren Mark, Stacy and Matthew.
