Born and raised in Dinuba, Daniel passed away on Monday, May 13, 2013, at the age of 63. He was an Army veteran who served in Vietnam. Daniel worked as a maintenance mechanic at the Saputo Cheese plant. He is preceded in death by his parents, Fortino and Frances Banda; a brother, Richard Banda; and a sister, Rosie Banda.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Maria Guadalupe Cervantes; two sons, Daniel Cervantes of Orosi, and James Cervantes of Orange Cove; a daughter, Crystal Cervantes of Orosi; six grandchildren; two brothers, Tino Bands, Jr, and Larry Banda; and six sisters, Patricia C. Ramirez, Alicia Carrillo, Isabel Navarro, Tina Guereca, Marcie Banda, and Frances Banda.
A rosary vigil will be held at 6:30 p.m. on May 20, 2013, at St Catherine's Catholic Church. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at the church. Military honors will be presented by US Veterans Joint Service Honors Command at Smith Mountain Cemetery.
