Erna Elresa Shetter-Regier

Erna Elresa Shetter- Regier was born on July 20, 1920 in Isabella, Oklahoma to Daniel and Bertha (Wiens) Janzen. Erna loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and shared her faith to many. Erna passed from this life and was welcomed into her eternal home on April 5, 2013.

 Erna moved to California as a young girl of nineteen. There she attended grammar school and later worked as a practical nurse, and emergency nurse in Reedley Hospital. While there she also worked in Obstetrics where she helped deliver 113 children.

 Erna married Leroy Shetter and lived in San Jose until her husband Leroy passed away in 1982. This marriage was blessed with three children: Kathryn Wiens of Maui, HI, Larry Shetter of Loomis, Ca, and Randy Shetter of Rocklin, Ca.

 On April 21, 1990 she married John Regier bringing her residence back to Reedley. Erna enjoyed and excelled in cooking, baking, gardening, playing table games with family and friends and playing with the great grandchildren. It seemed that no matter what she was doing, she always had time to sit and talk. Her kind and gentle spirit made a great impression on her children, grandchildren and those around her.

 She is survived by her children: Kathryn Weins, Larry and Randy Shetter, four step-children, Sharon Duerksen, Lewis, Kathleen and Timothy Regier; Five grandchildren: Danielle and Jannae Shetter, Jamie Wiens, Jennifer Lauer, Jillian Marquez and two step-grandchildren, Denae Hansen and Mark Duerksen; six great-granchildren, Taylor, Sanoe, and Seana Lanais, Eden Jade and Ashlynn Lauer and six step great-grandchildren: Hayley, Zach and Hayden Hansen, Login, Carter and Zoe Duerksen.

 A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 20th at 10:30 AM at the Reedley Mennonite Brethren Chapel. Remembrances may be made to Sierra View Homes.
