John Robert Manning was born on October 19, 1933 to Henry Columbus Manning and Bertha Bell Breedlove in Knoxville, Arknansas. After serving in the United States Army over seas in Korea, he came back home to Cutler, California, got married and started his family. He was an Agriculture Rancher both before and after the military term spanning 60 years. His wife Mary Manning passed away in August, 1992. He is survived by his son John Robert Manning, Jr. and his wife Candice, a brother, James Manning, 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was laid to rest on Monday, July 15, 2013 at Smith Mountain Cemetery.
