Johnnie was born in Kansas City, Kansas, on December 16, 1919. He moved to Dinuba in 1949 to become a partner in Franco & Palmer Land Leveling and later Palmer Land Leveling. He retired in 1974 and enjoyed many years fishing, golfing and taking trips in his motor home.
Johnnie is predeceased by wife Dorothy who passed away in December 2015. They were married for 74 years.
Johnnie is lovingly remembered by his Sister Peggy of Llano, California, Son Bill Palmer (Evelyn) of Stockton, Son John Palmer of Galena Ill, Grandsons Michael Palmer (Maggie) of Hermosa Beach, Thomas Palmer of Dallas, Texas and great-grandchildren Elon and Violet Von Palmer of Hermosa Beach.
A graveside service, officiated by a close family friend, Father Steve Lundgren, will be held at Smith Mountain Cemetery in Dinuba at 10 AM on Tuesday January 23.
