Roger William Norton came into the world on September 15, 1946. He was born to Gerald and Dorothy Norton in Visalia Ca. When he was 23 Roger joined the United States Air Force. Roger was stationed at Nellis Air Force base in Nevada. After being discharged from the Air Force, Roger began his civilian life. In 1990 Roger was in Orosi having a meal at a local diner and met a waitress named Iris. Two years later they were dating and in 1994 were married.
Roger was a man of many talents, woodworking and metal fabrication were high up on his list of abilities. He also enjoyed travel and managed to combine all of his hobbies into one project. Roger fabricated and assembled a 40 foot travel trailer. Roger and Iris used that trailer to travel the country, from Idaho to Mexico no place was out of reach. One of Rogers favorite destinations was California City with his grandchildren. Family was everything to Roger and instilled that love in his children. However, Roger was not above scaring the daylights out of his family. Roger was rather fond of building dune buggy's and scaring anyone who was brave enough to get in.
A strong work ethic was another part of Roger's life. He had a big part instilling this work ethic in his children and grandchildren. Roger taught his grandchildren how to drive a tractor and how to plant orange trees by hand. Roger left this world May 15, 2025. He is survived by Sara Santillian (Daughter), Emily Mireles (Daughter), Irene Moreno (Daughter) and Bobby Mireles (Son). He is deeply loved and will be equally missed.
