A graduate of Hunter College, Bernice worked as a social worker, nursery school teacher, substitute teacher and eventually became Sol's partner in their chemical business. She also started a Girl Scout Troop and was once very active in the PTA.
She found her true calling as an exceptional mother mother and grandmother. Bernice loved to cook, sew, travel with Sol, read and do crossword puzzles.
Bernice is survived by her husband Sol, sisters May Fisher and Lydia Struhl, Daughter Carole Traster-Wilk, son Michael Paul Traster and grandsons Dustin Herlich and Sean Traster.
Funeral services will commence at noon on Sunday, December 15th at I.J. Morris Funeral Home in Dix Hills. Shiva will be held at the home of Carole Traster-Wilk in Hicksville, Sunday through Wednesday, at 4:30pm.
