Beverly “Jane” Hochman, was born in Bayonne, NJ, to Sophie and David “Dewey” Goldweber on September 9, 1926. This morning, she was 12 days shy of entering her 100th year, but as she said 2 weeks ago, “I think it is time for me to start a new life. From the beginning.” And so she did. Today.
Beverly was an active contributor and sponsor in the Alanon program for many, many decades. She grew deeper in love with her husband Eli through their participation in Marriage Encounter. She loved the ocean, diving into the waves, and was known by all at her most recent home, “Mary Wade”, as the woman who loved to dance and do high kicks.
Beverly is survived by her son Matthew Hochman and daughter-in-law Cathy Slatas, daughter Lorri and son-in-law Andy Danzig, grandson Jonah Hochman and his partner Kelsey, Jonah’s mom, Nancy, sister-in-law Gail Goldweber and nephews Aaron and David Goldweber and Robert and Jon Gary.
Beverly is preceded in death by her husband Eli Hochman, her parents Sophie and Dewey Goldweber, her brother Arthur Goldweber, and her dearest friend, Bill Marullo.
A graveside service for Beverly will be held at United Hebrew Cemetery, located at 122 Arthur Kill Rd, Staten Island, NY 10306, on August 31, 2025 at 1:00pm.
