Dorothy Osofsky born on October 9, 1933 in Brooklyn NY passed away peacefully on January 28, 2025. She was the loving wife to Henry, of blessed memory, and beloved mother of David and Amy (Lance), and grandmother of Becca (Aaron), Jason and Alanna (Dave). She is also survived by her sister Harriet Chamoff and many nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was as a truant officer in the North Babylon School district and enjoyed being a travel agent after her retirement. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially taking fun trips with her grandchildren and visiting them in Louisville KY.
Dorothy loved traveling in the family motor home for many years going cross country and into Canada. After the kids were grown, Dorothy and Henry continued traveling across the U.S. and internationally.
After Henry’s death, Dorothy joined the Jewish Center of Bayshore and became an active member of the synagogue. She organized and ran the book club for many years and made wonderful friends. Dorothy was a big fan of John Denver music and saw him in concert many times.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to her amazing caregiver Daisy.
Daisy’s love and patience were unending and we are all blessed to have her in our lives taking care of Dorothy the past 18 months.
