

On Monday, July 24, 2023, Jerome Stanley Kerber, loving brother, husband, father and grandpa passed away at the age of 82.
Jerome was born on July 30, 1940, in Saratoga, NY to Molly and Harold Kerber. Jerome was a Locomotive Engineer for the Long Island Railroad (LIRR) for over 30 years. Jerome married the love of his life, Joyce Kerber, on September 20, 1964 and together they raised four children over their 59 year marriage.
Jerome was devoted to his family and was a wonderful provider. Jerome loved many hobbies, especially his love for trains. He was an avid train collector and loved attending train shows with his friends. He also collected stamps and coins and had an appreciation to care for the environment, he was an avid recycler! Jerome loved animals, especially his many cats. Often thought of by others as a ‘cat whisperer’ he routinely fed his animals with an unwavering love and affection.
Jerome is survived by his children, Stephanie, Melissa, Craig, and Monica and son in law Larry. Jerome also had six grandchildren, Rebecca, Brooke, Larry Jr, Paige, Summer, and Noah.
Jerome will be remembered for his dedication to family and friends, his generosity and kindness to others, as well as his deep appreciation for the Jewish faith. Jerome will be greatly missed, but his memory will live on through all who knew him.
We will be forever grateful for all our dad has done for us. He will live forever in our hearts. May God bless you always in heaven dad -we know you are happy because you are now with mom for eternity. We love you more and more.
A graveside service for Jerome will be held on Friday, July 28 at 1 PM at the New Montefiore cemetery in West Babylon, NY
