Dear Ilene, Cheryl and Joel and family: May the Almighty comfort you among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem. As rabbi of KPJC for more than two decades I had the privilege to know Joe and his devotion to KPJC and to our tradition.  He was a man of integrity. He was blessed with a sharp and incisive mind and was forthright and honest in all of his interactions with people.  He served in a number of capacities on the board of directors and committees of KPJC with honor and distinction.  Most important he was a very loving and devoted husband to Ilene and a wonderful father to Cheryl and Joel.  A sound Jewish education leading to a Bar and Bat Mitzvah for his kids and other Jewish children was very important to him. He loved America and continued to serve his country in the Naval reserves.  He supported and was active in Jewish organizations which promoted and advocated the advancement of social justice causes in the general community and which fought anti semitism and advocated for the welfare and flourishing of the State of  Israel.  It was my privilege to see both Ilene and Joe here in Jerusalem a number of years ago on their  visit to the State of Israel. May his memory endure as a blessing to his mishpacha and friends and may he rest in peace in the sheltering presence of the Almighty.

Joe you left us way too soon. We will all miss our intellect and quick wit at the monthly SAL meetings. You were a good person, lawyer, husband, father and friend.

I will miss you, and to be sure you will be missed by many.
