Lila Stampler age 88 of Commack, NY passed away on Sunday April 19, 2015. Lila is predeceased by her husband Manley Stampler, and son James Mertz. She is survived by her loving children Diane Mertz- Hart (Richard) and Sarah Hart (Mark Harvey), her adored grandchildren Rachel and Keith, and her cherished great grandchildren Estelle and Graydon. May her memory be eternal. Funeral services will be held at IJ Morris Dix Hills on Wednesday April 22, 2015 commencing at 1:00pm with interment to immediately follow at the Mt. Ararat Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY. Shiva will be observed at the "Mertz-Hart" residence (4 Milleridgte Lane. Smithtown, NY 11787) Wednesday immediately following services through Friday, and on Monday at the Gurwin F Jay Lindner Assisted Living (50 Hauppauge Rd. Commack, NY 11725) 2:00pm - 4:00pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Gurwin Foundation.
