

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Malcolm Taylor on January 22, 2025, at the age of 92, after a very courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Born November 15, 1932, to William & Dena, he grew up in Great Neck, NY.
Malcolm was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He lived a life of kindness, service, and unwavering dedication to his loved ones and community.
He met the love of his life, Fran, and they spent nearly 60 years together, creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, and countless cherished memories.
A lifelong educator, Malcolm dedicated over 30 years to inspiring and shaping minds. Known for his patience and passion, he went above and beyond to ensure every student felt seen, valued, and capable. Both stern and supportive, he expected the best from his students because he saw the best in them.
Outside the classroom, Malcolm tirelessly served his country and his community. He was a Veteran of the Korean War and a volunteer firefighter, first in the Manhasset Lakeville FD and then in the Stony Brook FD. Whether responding to emergencies or lending a helping hand to a neighbor, his selflessness touched countless lives.
He was a true Renaissance man at home, effortlessly cooking and balancing tasks with love and care. He took his greatest pride in his role as a husband, father, and grandfather, always offering wisdom, encouragement, and unconditional love. We all cherished his stories and the endless joy they brought to our lives.
He is survived by his wife, Fran, sons Barry and David, daughters-in-laws Allison and Stefanie, and grandsons Hayden and Matthew.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in his name to the Alzheimer's Association.
A funeral service for Malcolm will be held Sunday, January 26, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM at I.J. Morris, 21 East Deer Park Road, Dix Hills, NY 11746. Following the funeral service will be a burial from 1:30 PM to 2:15 PM at Beth Moses Cemetery, 1500 Wellwood Ave, West Babylon, NY 11704.
