Don was the youngest of six children born to Clyde and Fanny Hunter. He was preceded in death by his siblings Theresa, Clyde, Thelma, Esther, and Elmer.
He is survived by his beloved wife, June; children Jeffery, Michael, Kimberly, and Cornetta; and the cherished memory of his son, Donnie, who preceded him in death.
Don will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Joe, Jamie, Sara, Donnie, Jessica, Robby, Shelly, A.J., and Jack; and by his 20 great-grandchildren, who brought him immense pride and joy.
Don and June shared a love of travel and explored many foreign countries together, creating a lifetime of treasured memories. He worked at Kelvinator for more than 35 years and was also a dedicated farmer, embodying a strong work ethic and deep respect for the land. He took great pride in his home and was known for keeping an immaculate lawn that reflected his care, discipline, and attention to detail. He deeply loved his wife, June — affectionately known as “Junie” — and their lifelong partnership was the foundation of his happiness and strength. Don and June were blessed with 69 years of marriage, a testament to their devotion, faith, and enduring love.
Above all, Don lived for his family. Nothing was more important to him than his children and grandchildren. He never missed a sporting event and was a constant presence in their lives, offering encouragement, wisdom, and unconditional love. He was a wonderful role model whose quiet strength, integrity, and devotion will continue to inspire all who knew him. Don’s legacy is one of love, dedication, and family, and he will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
