Dorene M. Lister “Dolly,” age 94, went home to the Lord Friday, October 6, 2023 at home in Dorr, Michigan. She was born November 10, 1928 at home in St. Charles, Michigan to the late Harry and Sarah Lister. She moved to Grand Rapids with friends, after graduation, to look for work, which was a brave thing to do in 1949. She worked for Lear Jet in the lab. She was a self taught 🎶 musician and enjoyed playing the harmonica, keyboards, guitar, and accordion with brother, Joe, and “Buff” and any friends who wanted to jam with her at her basement parties. Her favorite songs were “Spanish Eyes” and “Since I met you baby." She also enjoyed fishing, taking in strays, doing card tricks, and telling jokes.
Left to mourn her loss are her sister, Inez Graham; brother, Dale Lister; 15 nieces and nephews; and lots of friends. Dolly was preceded in death by sister, Arlene (Dave) Basner; brother, Joe (Donna) Lister; brother-in-law, Bud Graham; sister-in-law, Marian Lister; nephews Todd Graham, Larry Lister; and great-niece, Katie Wildman.
It has been said Dolly never met a stranger and was a friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. No service at this time.
