Genevieve is survived by her children Kathleen (David) Brookins, John “Phil” (Shirley) Shippy, Kenneth (Julie) Shippy, Norman (Brenda) Shippy; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; two great-great-great-grandchildren; sisters Betty Wert, Marilyn Schnepp; and many extended relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Shippy; parents Joe and Ida Bloomstrom; daughter, Janice Shippy; granddaughter, Allison Shippy; brothers Chuck Bloomstrom, Harold Bloomstrom, Carol Bloomstrom; and brother-in-law, Dick Schnepp.
Visitation will be held from 3-6 p.m. Friday, May 12, 2023 at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home (Dorr Chapel), 4330 18th St., Dorr, MI 49323. A funeral service celebrating Genevieve’s life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home (Dorr Chapel), with visitation one hour prior. Genevieve will be laid to rest at Floral View Memorial Gardens next to John.
