Kathy Lynn Church, age 55, lived a life full of love, optimism, vibrance, and empathy. Kathy left this world to be with her Heavenly Father on November 22, 2025, surrounded by her family, whom she loved unconditionally.
Kathy was born on March 1, 1970, to Nancy Marie Perry (Tubergen) and Carl Wayne Perry Sr. She entered the world as a bright, curly-haired firecracker with wisdom and intuition far beyond her years. Even as a child, she carried a presence and a spark that foreshadowed the incredible woman she would become. She loved her parents and cared for them deeply. She always made it a priority to spend time with them in any way she could, whether it was stopping over to visit, taking them on a roadtrip, or accompanying them to a show.
Kathy lived her life guided by a deep and unwavering faith. Her relationship with God wasn’t just something she spoke about, it was something she lived boldly and authentically. She believed in grace, forgiveness, and compassion, which she practiced every day. Her favorite saying, “meet people where they’re at,” was more than a motto—it was her entire philosophy. She accepted people without judgment, extended compassion without hesitation, and loved others exactly as they were. To be in her presence was to feel seen, valued, and accepted.
Her heart was enormous—and so was her hair. Kathy was known for her beautiful curly mane that she rocked with total confidence. Some days it would fluff up like a glorious halo, and she wore it proudly. Her humor, sass, vibrant personality, and perfectly unfiltered honesty made her unforgettable. She didn’t sugarcoat anything and wasn’t afraid to tell the truth exactly as she saw it, but always with love behind it. She had a rare ability to be blunt and comforting all at once.
Kathy was the glue of her family. She brought people together effortlessly. She hosted family get-togethers with joy and intention and was the first person anyone called when there was a wedding to plan, a baby shower to organize, a birthday to celebrate, or a time of crisis. She had a gift for making people feel special and turning ordinary days into memories. Her home, arms, and heart were always open.
For 37 years, 35 in marriage, she shared a beautiful, deeply devoted relationship with her husband, Conrad Church. Their love was built on everyday rituals, inside jokes, honest conversations, shared responsibilities, and a lifetime of choosing each other. They created a home rooted in unconditional love, truth, laughter, forgiveness, and unwavering loyalty. Through every season, bright or heavy, they held on to one another.
Kathy was a natural caretaker and protected her family fiercely. Her five children, Cassondra, Collin (Jazmyn), Cameron, Kayla, and Ayden Church, were not just a part of her life; they were the very soul of it. She celebrated their triumphs with pride and was always a safe place they could confide in. Kathy had two grandchildren, Cairo and Arrow Church. She loved being a grandma; it was a role that softened her, healed her, and filled her with joy.
Kathy is survived by her parents Nancy and Carl Perry Sr.; husband, Conrad; children Cassondra, Collin (Jazmyn), Cameron, Kayla, and Ayden; grandchildren Cairo and Arrow; siblings Carl Perry Jr. and Rick (Kimberly) Perry; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Kathy touched countless lives beyond her family. Friends, neighbors, coworkers, even acquaintances often described her as the person they could turn to when life felt heavy. She was the one who answered the late-night calls, prayed with people in their darkest moments, and encouraged them to keep going.
Kathy lived her life fully. She loved adventure and found joy in traveling, especially with her family by her side. From Roatán, Honduras to Cabo, Mexico, she soaked in new cultures with an open spirit and eagerness to explore. She looked forward to taking her entire family on a Caribbean cruise to the Bahamas, a dream she held close, because she believed memories meant more when they were shared.
She carried an unshakable work ethic through every chapter of her life. Even as a child, she had an entrepreneurial spirit and through her determination and perseverance she achieved her lifelong dream of owning her own restaurant. Even when the world demanded more of her than any person should give, she kept pushing, fueled by passion, grit, and the belief that her dream mattered. Her life was proof that determination can build something beautiful, and her perseverance was proof that dreams can be achieved.
In her final days, her faith remained steady. She spoke of peace, God’s love, and knowing she was going home. Even as her family held her hands, she continued to comfort them, reminding them to love one another, stay close, forgive easily, and cherish each moment generously.
Kathy lived boldly, loved fiercely, and impacted deeply. She will be remembered for her compassion, honesty, laughter, bravery, unshakable faith, and the way she brought people together with warmth and intention.
She will be forever loved, missed, and celebrated.
