Ronald Charles Smith was born to Glenn and Lillian Smith September 7, 1942, in Grand Rapids Michigan. His family lived in Grattan, until he was about ten years old, when they moved to Hopkins. On June 24, 1961, he married his high school sweetheart, Linda Cline. They were blessed with two children Randy and Angela. Those blessings grew as they added a granddaughter, Lisa, and three great-grandchildren Hunter, Hollin, and Hazel.
Ron had a deep love and appreciation for all things nature. He spent many hunting seasons deep in the woods with family. In the summer, he could also be found out on the lake, fishing, or just enjoying the water. He found great joy in spending as much time as he could with family. On March 1, 2022, he was reunited in heaven with Linda, his beloved wife of 58 years. He will always be remembered by those who loved him for his quick smile and infectious laughter.
