Eunice W. Howard

Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 16, 2014 at Byrd Funeral Home with Rev. Freddie McCain. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Byrd Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00-2:45 p.m. Sunday.

Eunice was born April 14, 1918 in Early County, Georgia. She met and married the love of her life, Kyle Howard, on November 17, 1937 and remained in Dothan the rest of her life. She and Kyle owned and operated Howard’s Superette in Dothan until June 1976. Eunice was a member of Northside Methodist Church and enjoyed fellowship with her Sunday school class as well as her garden club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kyle Howard; one infant daughter, Sheryl Dale Howard; four sisters, Doris McChean, Mary Alice Autrey, Olivia Stovall and Grace Jones; and two brothers, Alton and Douglas Weaver.

Survivors include her sons, Robert H. Howard (Ann) of Atlanta, GA and Charles D. Howard (Julia) of Dothan; granddaughters, Brooke Ludwig (Ken) of Geneva, FL, Pagelea Bacher (Freddie) of Dothan, and Briana Howard of Athens, GA; grandson, Joshua Howard of Dothan; five great-granddaughters; three great-grandsons; and her sister, Marjorie Childree of Albany, GA.
