Mildred Davis Hicks

Private graveside services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Memory Hill Cemetery with Rev. Patrick Gallagher officiating and Byrd Funeral Home on West Main Street directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

Mrs. Hicks was born December 29, 1916 in Ozark, Alabama. She served as an Army Air Corp Head Surgical Nurse during and after World War II. She was a resident of Dothan for over 45 years and was a member of the Garden Club. Mrs. Hicks was an avid duplicate bridge player and enjoyed ballroom and square dancing. She was of the Catholic faith.

She is predeceased by her husband, Glenn D. Hicks who died in 2010.

Survivors include three children, Lawrence Hicks, Karol Kerr and Barbara Strickland; five grandchildren, Lisa and John Hicks, Christopher and Sarah Kerr and Glenn D. Strickland.
