Mr. Robert Edward Smith

Funeral services will be held at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at Corinth Baptist Church, where he attended with Rev. Lonnie Earl Hendrix and Rev. Danny Starling officiating. Byrd Funeral Home on West Main Street is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8:00 p.m. Monday evening.

Mr. Smith was born in Okeechobee, Florida and he was a loving son, husband, father, and brother and he will be greatly missed by all. He was employed with the Alabama Department of Transportation for the past 7 years.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his father, Dozier Edward Smith and by his brother-in-law, Kirby Joiner.

Survivors include his wife, Deborah Pullen Smith, Slocomb; two sons, Robert Brandon Smith and his wife, Tiffanie, Auburn, AL, and Matthew Christopher Smith, and his fiancé, LaTrisha Underwood, of Slocomb; his mother, Edna Faye Smith, Okeechobee, FL; four sisters, Nancy Hamblen and her husband, Mike, Okeechobee, FL., Rhonda D’Avanzo and her husband, Daniel, Macomb, MI., Carol Thomas and her husband, Joe, Okeechobee, Fl., Darlyne Joiner, Okeechobee, FL., his brother, James Smith and his wife, Leah, Summerville, GA., numerous nieces and nephews.
