

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, Feb. 25, 2011 at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Johnny Fain and Rev. Willie Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Enterprise City Cemetery with Byrd Funeral Home on West Main Street directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 p.m. on Thursday.

Mrs. Horne was born February 16, 1918 in Coffee County and lived the early years of her life there. After her marriage to Douglas Lee Horne they moved to Dothan where she lived the remainder of her life. She volunteered at Southeast Alabama Medical Center for several years and later was employed with the gift shop there for 18 years. She also volunteered with Vaughn Towers Senior Citizens and the Nursery at First Baptist Church. Mrs. Horne enjoyed sewing and flower arranging. She loved her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Moore (Charles) of Panama City Beach, FL; grandchildren, Julie Moore Burrow (Andrew) of Atlanta, GA, Melinda Middleton (Doug) of Pensacola, FL, Charles David Moore and Christi Lynn Moore, both of Dothan; great-grandchildren, Andrew Harris, John Robert Bradwell, Catherine Bradwell, Dustin Moore, Melissa Reeves, Russell Reeves, Mathew David Moore, Kayla Lynn McDonald (Jeremy), Zackery Preston Pritt; a great-great grandchild, Kayden Layne McDonald; several nieces and nephews also survive.
