Mr. Albert E. McCoy, age 74, of Douglasville, GA passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2018. He was born May 9, 1943 in Jacksonville, FL. Albert was a truck driver and was known as “The Real McCoy”, his CB handle. Knowledge was very important to Albert and because it was, there wasn’t anything that he didn’t know something about. Albert was a Veteran, having proudly served his country in the US Navy. He loved electronics and was always up for an adventure. Albert had the best sense of humor, no matter if he was telling the joke or if he was the butt of the joke.
Mr. McCoy was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Mae McCoy; his mother who raised him, Ethel Simmons; and a sister, Joyce.
He is survived by his daughter, Tracy; sons, Maurice, Marcus, Jalil; grandchildren, Fatima, Dahkir, Marvin and Christopher; brothers, Johnny Boy, Marvin; sisters, Loretta, Paulette, Bonnie, Eunice, Sister Mae.
The memorial service will be Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Whitley-Garner at Rosehaven Funeral Home.
