April Suzanne Dodd Craft, age 79, of Winston, Georgia passed away Friday, September 3, 2021. April was born January 9, 1942 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Freeman W. and Clara (Thompson) Dodd. True to a Proverbs 31 woman, April put her family first. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and especially loved being “GranGran” to her grandbabies. April was a 1960 graduate of Douglas County High School and was retired from the Douglas County School System serving as the Superintendent’s Secretary. She was a born again Christian and was a member of Central Baptist Church for over 20 years. Her favorite color was blue, and she loved collecting blue glass. In her spare time, she enjoyed riding horses, bird watching and working jigsaw puzzles. April was an avid reader and was a fan of all genres.
Those left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of 59 years and her high school sweetheart, Max Craft, Sr; son, Max Craft, Jr. (Leslie); daughter, Suzanne Mills (Keith); sister, Carole Umphrey; grandchildren, Mandi Paul (Austin), Jacob Mills (Alyssa) and Garrett Mills; one great-grandchild on the way; as well as other family members and many friends.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, September 5, 2021 from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the Rosehaven Chapel with Pastor Charles Gibbs officiating. April will be laid to rest at Central Baptist Church Cemetery following the service.
