

Born on November 14, 1944, in Commerce, GA, she was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Genie Griffin.
Betty dedicated 34 years of her life in service to the State of Georgia, where she was known for her unwavering commitment, work ethic, and kindness. After retirement, she found great joy in mentoring students in the Douglas County school system and treasured the time spent with her great-grandsons. She also loved to travel and create lasting memories with her family.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, Billy Gene Murphy; her parents; and her brother, Harlan Griffin.
Betty is survived by her devoted daughters, Shannon Bramblett (Donald) and Ellen Lovins (Russell); her cherished grandchildren, David Carlsen (Megan), and Alexis White (Tyler), Jason and Jared Lovins; and her adored great-grandsons, Brantley and Brayden Carlsen and Theodore McCowen. She is also survived by her loving sisters, June Lance (Gary), and Robin Beaty.
There will be a visitation held in Betty’s honor Sunday April 13, 2025 from at Whitley Garner at Rosehaven Funeral Home 4-6pm. There will also be a Celebration of Life service held on Monday April 14, 2025 at 11am also at Whitley Garner at Rosehaven Funeral Home followed by a family committal at Georgia Memorial Park.
Betty’s legacy of love, strength, and kindness will live on in all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
