Danny Ray Tilley, age 67, of Austell, Georgia passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2021. Danny was born February 2, 1954 in Anniston, Alabama. Danny proudly served his country as a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and the Army National Guard. He retired as a truck driver with J.B. Hunt with 20 years of service. He loved his job and enjoyed the travel opportunities it allowed him. Known to be a jokester, Danny always enjoyed having a good time and especially messing with scam callers. In his spare time, he loved eating everything, especially popcorn, watching NCIS, listening to gospel music and tinkering with his Dodge Ram truck.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John H. and Margaret (Newburn) Tilley; his first wife and mother of his children, Linda Tilley; sister, Shirley Darlene Tilley; and grandson, Landon Tilley.
Those left to cherish his memory are son, Charles Tilley (Lindsey); brother, James Tilley (Lisa); two grandchildren, Andrew Tilley and Walker Tilley; and one grandchild on the way.
Danny will be laid to rest at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the funeral home to help the family cover the funeral expenses.
