Debora Lynn Childers Whitson, age 55, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Thursday, October 19, 2023. She was born November 22, 1967 in Atlanta, Georgia. Debora was a 1985 graduate of Lithia Springs High School. Truly family-oriented, Debora was a devoted wife, loving mother, daughter and sister who loved family get-togethers and gatherings with her friends. Debora had worked as a bus driver with the Douglas County School System for over 20 years, and most recently had worked as a bus driver with Haralson County School System. She had a love for dogs and two of her favorites were her beloved Bishon Frisé, Snowy, and her Schnauzer, Bear.
Preceding her in death were her father, James William “Bill” Childers.
Those left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of 22 years, Craig Whitson; mother, Peggy Sue Childers; son, Garrett Whitson; daughter, Autumn Whitson; brothers, Jeff Childers (Pam) and Jamie Childers; sister, Cindi Barker (Paul); her nieces and nephews, as well as numerous other family members and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, October 28, 2023 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM in the Rosehaven Chapel. Following the service, Debora will be laid to rest at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
