Dennis Calvin Queen

Dennis Calvin Queen, age 75, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Saturday, November 25, 2023. He was born July 12, 1948 in Epworth in Fannin County, Georgia. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and was involved in many of their activities. Dennis loved being the team manager for Brayden’s ball team. He loved sports, especially baseball, football and fishing. Dennis enjoyed birdwatching and loved taking care of the birds. He loved his little Yorkie, Harley.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Eugene and Inez (Gray) Queen.

Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 53 years, Becky Queen; daughters, Lynn Whatley (Tony) and Leah Mathis (Jared); grandchildren, Brayden Mathis, Bella Mathis and Baylor Mathis; brother, Reverend Danny (Gayle) Queen; sister, Wanda (Donald) Stewart; brothers-in-law, Wendell (Dawn) Driver, Steve (Marilyn) Wiley and Mike (Debbie) Wiley; sisters-in-law, Ginger McKinzie, Joy (Mike) Spilman, Gina (Jeff) O’Hearn and Joni Driver; as well as nieces, nephews and numerous other family members.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM. The funeral service will follow in the Rosehaven Chapel at 3:00 PM with Dr. Billy Godwin and Brother James Williams officiating. Following the service he will be laid to rest in Rosehaven Memorial Park.
