Diana Mary Harper, age 80, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Thursday, March 23, 2023. She was born November 4, 1942 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Diana loved her family, but she especially enjoyed visiting and spending time with her grandchildren. A great cook and being of Italian descent, Diana was taught to cook by her mother who passed on family recipes that had been handed down through generations. Her specialities were any Italian cuisine, whether it be pasta dishes or meatballs. Diana had quite the collection of costume jewelry, as well as a cherished doll collection. In her spare time, she enjoyed word puzzles, newspaper “Jumbles” and word search puzzles. Diana was Catholic by Faith, and was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church. Diana was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed by her loved ones.
Preceding her in death were her beloved husband of 48 years, George Simon Harper; her parents, Theodore J. and Dominica (Ucci) LaMonaca; brother, Theodore “Ted” LaMonaca; grandson, Scott Harper; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Those left to cherish her memory are sons, Pat and Tina Harper, and Brian and Angela Harper; grandchildren, Michael Harper, Kathryn Harper and Kevin Harper; uncle, Gilbert LaMonaca and his children, Gilbert, Mark, Bruce and Cindy; cousin, Adele LaMonaca Miller; sister-in-law, Maryanne LaMonaca and her children, Ted and Trisha; sister-in-law, Patsy Harper and her daughters, Audrey and Heather.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, March 26, 2023 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. A cryptside service will follow at 2:00 PM at Rosehaven Memorial Park Mausoleum with Deacon Joe Hrovat officiating.
