Eddie was born in Wilmington, North Carolina on May 8, 1942, the son of the late Roscoe Edward Houghton and the late Valeria Hale Fisher. Eddie’s career began as a mechanic, working for the City of Atlanta for a number of years. In 1969 he went to work at Harley-Davidson in Atlanta, Georgia as service manager. In 1981 he bought the business located on Sylvan Road and built a new dealership on Thornton Road in Lithia Springs, Georgia in 1996, which he operated until 2022. After the purchase, he turned the operation around to become one of the most successful in Georgia that welcomed the community for fellowship, which he was part of for 53 years. Eddie was also a private corporate pilot for thirty years, flying with his friend, Glenn Weathington, all around the country. He was quite the outdoorsman, enjoying his favorite Harley Sportster, spending time around the water, hunting deer and duck, finding those big deer in Missouri; even owning a dive shop and becoming a wine connoisseur. He and his wife Lisa traveled all over the world with Hawaii being a favorite destination. Eddie was a self made man and at the end of the day his very favorite place to be was “Home” with Lisa and his schnauzer fur babies, Josie, Katie, and Allie. He worked hard, he played hard, he was a great storyteller and yes……A Life Well Lived!
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Hunter Houghton; brother and sister-in-law, Zack and Sandra Fisher and sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Reggie Honbarrier.
In addition to his parents Roscoe Houghton and Valeria Fisher, his son, Chris Houghton, precedes him in death.
